Search Engine Optimization in a Nutshell

by Administrator on November 17, 2012

Search engine optimization is a complex phenomenon. It takes year of practice and many failed attempts to have excellent search engine optimization skills. If you don’t neither have the time nor patience, take a look at these search engine optimization techniques.

1. Backlinks

You want the traffic of your blog or niche site to take off like a rocket? Then you need quality back-links. Many individuals may not realize this, but having quality back-links is half of the search engine optimization game. So, how do you get quality back-links?

Simplest and fastest way is to leave quality comments on quality sites. So, leave comments sites that have high page ranks and sites that have .gov and .edu domains. Google and other major search engines trust such sites and if you are linked to trustworthy sites, your site will start ranking higher.

2. Keep it Relevant

If you want to make money as a blogger or niche marketer, you need to keep it relevant. In order to keep it relevant, you need to do your homework. This means using quality software to research your keywords. It also means having a domain name that is relevant to whatever you want to market. If you want to market sushi, have the word sushi in your domain name. Furthermore, whenever you are writing articles about sushi, make sure to constantly incorporate the “relevant keyword” sushi into your articles title and body.

3. Microfocus

Focusing on certain keywords is great, but you can do even better. Why not micro-focus? That’s right, you can do better than just focusing. You can micro-focus. This means, instead of focusing on the keyword sushi, why not research and focus on a phrase “quality sushi in Southern Chicago.” Do you see what I’m getting at? Sushi is a very general keyword, but if your business is about sushi in Southern Chicago, focus on that. You’ll get much better results.

4. Keep It Fresh

Search engines love quality content, but they also adore fresh content. Try to update your site frequently, because doing so will voluntarily force search engines to crawl your site more often. That’s a good thing for you. Getting more pages indexed on search engines can never be a bad thing.

5. SEO is TLPR

This means your site’s fate is determined by Text, Links, Popularity and Reputation.
